Dead Parrot is dead on Dead Parrot and Draconian gave excellent reviews. As Draconian pointed out regarding the technology of the day, the computers in the Lunar and Command modules had less computing power than today's programmable calculators. And we went to the moon and back. These engineers used SLIDE RULES for Christ's sake. Show one of those to a teenager today and they would have no idea what you are holding. This movie makes my chest burst with pride and I gotta admit, I've seen it a dozen times and I still tear up when those chutes open. user: Mikanakawa

Tense and Techie Adventure that really happened as shown I found the movie great, tense and gripping and it gives people an idea of the space exploration program of the time.  People went out into space with what looks to us like vintage equipment and laughable computers. The technology is not too hard to understand (people breathe out waste gas called carbon dioxide, see, and if too much stays around they can die from it).   The aerospace industry then was all-male, but it gives a positive view of how males work together in an organized, focussed way.  If you like this film you might also like THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER. user: Draconian
