Men Don't Tell (1993)

The film, starring Peter Strauss and Judith Light broke ground in portraying a prosperous, white American family where the wife repeatedly physically assaults her husband.

When I first saw this film (during it's premiere on CBS TV in 1993) it's
accuracy almost made me wonder if the writers had stolen my own story,
particularly the scene where Peter Strauss phones a battered women's
shelter for help and is treated like a perpetrator. The director of Rainbow Services in San Pedro, CA, did that to me. Later, she told me that it was part of their training to treat male callers as perpetrators.

I highly recommend this film. It is one of the landmarks in shattering
gender stereotypes in domestic violence.
